I know that airlines allow you to carry ammo in your checked luggage, but what about BH 209? I know they have strict rules limiting travel with flammable goods, but i'm not sure about BH 209. I'll check with the airlines to confirm, but i thought i'd ask here first.

Thanks in advance of your response!

I know you cant carry 777. Im sure you cant carry BH209.
They regs could have changed but i doubt it.

Have bow will travel

Airline would not let me fly with any powder, caps, or bullets. They said you are not allowed to fly with components but fully assembled ammo is fine. ATF,TSA and the state police were called in on this. Lucky I got to the airport like 2 hours early. Since the Triple Seven set off the swab alarm they treated it like a bomb and I had to go through the whole mess.

After it all the let me on my way without the bullets, caps, or powder.

I fly from Utah to Ohio every winter for the late muzzy hunt and have always taken bullets with me with ZERO issue. The powder and primers are a BIG NO NO however. As Hobbsp stated doing so will result in an extra long stay in the airport and perhaps jail! The TSA has no sense of humor when it comes to that kind of thing.

When I PCS'd from Germany I removed the bolts from all my rifles prior to shipping them as the shipper were known for "losing" weapons when shipped. This was WAY before 911. I put all of the bolts in my carry on bags and went to Frankfurt international airport. Placed my bag on the X-ray table and suddenly noticed a lot of commotion from the tech and the Polizei. Next thing I know I'm surrounded by guys with automatic weapons being escorted to a room! Like hobbsp said "good thing I was there a couple of hours early!" The only thing that saved me was the fact I was a soldier moving back to the states. They ended up making me check the bolts, called me a stupid American and sent me on my way.

I guess i'll have to buy some when i land in NM or have it shipped from cabelas directly to NM. Or i can hide it in my shoes...i'm sure TSA will never find it there. ;-)
