im not sure how much truth there is behind it but i was told that having a skull beetled can cause shrinkage.i was told to freeze them in water until measuring time and than beetle it.

Wouldn't freezing them in water violate the 60-day drying requirement?

never thought about that. this was just something that someone told me me. i asked my uncle about his skull and it was 15 3/4 fresh and 15 5/16 after being beetled. so does a skull normally shrink that much or could it have something to do with the beetles?

Skull needs to stay in room temperature place for the 60 day drying period. If they find out you kept it in water, you will have to wait another 60 days.
