Wondering about the best state to put in for a tag next year that has antelope hunting through mid oct. Not looking for strictly trophy but would like to take my five year old with me to get him the taste of hunting so nothing extreme. I bowhunt so sept is used up for elk but would rifle hunt for the speedgoats. The closer to washington the better for distance. Open to any suggestions TKs nwhunter

Most of the controlled hunts in Idaho go until Oct. 24th. The regs for next fall will be out in April. The chance of drawing a tag for most units is 1/6 to 1/12. Getting a decent antelope in Idaho isn't hard if you can draw a tag. It would be easier to draw a tag in Montana or Wyoming.

Idaho was my first choice too and I put in there this year but no luck. Will try again. I bought a lifetime license before I moved from Idaho so its a cheap state for me to put in for tags. Do you like their no pref points? Tks for the input NWhunter
