Is it hard to get permission to hunt goats in eastern CO?

Yes...I've never had any luck getting permission by knocking on doors.

I have a good place to hunt now, but in the past I would go into the local bar in the area about 2:00pm and have a beer. Alot of the older ranchers if they are in town for some reason will stop for a beer, usally on a thursday or friday. Start some small talk buy them a drink, talk some hunting, cattle or crops if you know what you are talking about. Offer a service for a weekend or 2. As I do now I help with branding cattle every year or fix fence. I used to do this for my deer and elk hunting area too. Just knocking on doors rarely works any more especialy 2 days before the season opens.
