Hey All,
I posted this in the New Mexico forum, but thought I would post it up here as well. Have any of my fellow Utah hunters done New Mexico elk? I am looking into doing a New Mexico elk hunt this year. I am looking into doing either a guided, semi-guided, drop camp style elk hunt. Not too picky on size. A 250+ inch bull would be great for me. I am trying to spend under $2000 on the guide fees, so I'm on a pretty tight budget. Any suggestions on areas, outfitters, seasons, etc? I would prefer to hunt them in the rut and to see a good number of elk each day. It looks like there are a lot of Muzzy hunts in early October. Are they still fired up in early October? Muzzy or Rifle are preferred for me, but I'm not closed to an archery hunt. I am physically able and do a lot of backpack back-country hunting. Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer.
Thanks in Advance.
