Anybody ever hunt 35 3rd season?

Drew a third season tag for 35 and wondered if anybody has done any good up there? Thanks

I've had that license a few times. Hunted in all areas north of the interstate. It's darned crowded, especially with all of the elk huters at the same time. People camped and hunting everywhere. We've had mixed success. Tougher weather and later in the season, things seem to get less crazy. Be sure to get really good maps and stay off of any private ground. The best deer and best hunting are on the private places, but they are sometimes small necks of land and you need to be sure of your location.

Tough tag, but there are genetics and potential there for sure. Only hunted it once, but figure out a way to get away from the crowds and you should do OK. Depending on the snow, the deer could be high (over 10,000 feet) or they could be on their winter range rutting by then. You might even see them both places if a storm comes through mid hunt. I know the deer numbers are down in Eagle County since the big winter, but the positive is that the deer hunter numbers have been down as well!
