Anybody help me with this bird?

LAST EDITED ON Aug-07-09 AT 01:24PM (MST)[p]My buddy saw a bunch of these birds and wants to know what they are. I haven't the foggiest. He says they were huge, standing a few feet tall.

This was taken last week in Utah up by East Canyon Reservoir.

That would be a couple of Sandhill Cranes. Those things seem to be all over the place this year. Last year I saw a flock of about 100 or so fo those things out near Dinasour National Monument. They are pretty cool.

Ramtagless - they eat sandhills like crazy down here in Texas - they call them "Prime rib in the sky" heard they are awesome.
