Picture of my cabin this week at 9000 ft. In unit 71. Deer will be lower.

Got more snow today, deer are still thick up top, big bucks will stay high, so will plenty of does.
Dink bucks pushing does. I believe by next Thursday the rut will be underway.

I stand somewhat corrected. A friend said he saw quite a few deer tracks in the snow last week at 9500 ft. And if you can find fresh tracks, it may be good. But if not I would head lower.

Trying to find lone bucks in the high country after archery,Muzzy, 1s and 2nd rifle seasons is a tough prospect. I would scout and be looking for groups of does at whatever elevation they are, and hope the bucks decide to come courting. Suspect that will be soon. And I suspect mid elevations will be where most does are in the coming week

From unit 711 at mid elevation this past weekend. They killed another 6 point bull as well Stars alighted because this is OTC for ek

We haven’t been out yet, we will start tomorrow night and rest of season

Well we hunted hard and ended up shooting a small 4 point, bucks were starting to rut so 4th season should be great.
