Anyone live near Portland Oregon???

I am down here from Central Washington on a business trip for 2 weeks. I was just curious if anyone knew a few close places, within 45 min., to find some wildlife. I am done around 4pm every day and I would love to look at some new country. I have not intentions of ever hunting down here. I just would enjoy to look at some bucks or even elk, if there are any close by. Thanks for any suggestions.

You could try Jewell Meadows Wildlife Area, but I think it's a little over an hour drive from Portland, and there may not be elk out feeding in the open this time of year. Here's a link for more info if you're interested: http://www.dfw.state.or.us/wildlifearea/jewellmeodows.htm

might be more of an hour drive but the Julia butler Henson refuge for the Columbia white tailed deer is kinda cool its in cathlamet wa. They have a whole bunch 10x12 Rosie bulls in there too. very very easy to locate the bulls and the deer from your car.
