Application question

I have put in for my non-res LE deer tag. I did not put in for a general deer tag. Can I go back in and apply for a general deer tag and NOT lose my points if I don't draw my LE tag? I've got 9 points so I really don't want to screw this up and burn my points on a general tag if I don't draw the LE but do draw a general tag. Thanks for the response in advance.

You won't loose your LE points if you draw a General Deer tag, so go for it put in for General Deer.....

If you already applied you will need to pay $10 for the LE draw because you will have to apply again to add General deer.

From the Guid Book page 14

"Correcting and resubmitting your application
Did you make a mistake in your online permit
application? Simply withdraw your original online
application and submit a new, correct application
before 11 p.m. on March 1, 2012.
You must have your confirmation number,
your customer ID and your date of birth in order
to withdraw your application. For each new
application you submit, you will be charged a $10
nonrefundable application fee.
If you need help with your online application,
please call any Division office before 5 p.m. on"

Tikka is correct, Steve. You won't lose the points because there are actually two different point systems. You've got 9 bonus points, which apply to limited-entry and once-in-a-lifetime hunts. If you drew a permit for a general-season hunt, it would only affect any preference points you'd accumulated. Here's a page that explains how bonus and preference points work.

Steve, there are 3 separate and distinct applications you can enter: General season deer, Limited Entry (deer, elk or pronghorn), and Once-in-a-lifetime. No need to mess with your LE application, it's good to go. Just go submit a general season application, pay the $10, and cross your fingers that you'll draw a tag. Since each application is separate you can submit them at different times, from different computers, and you can even enter with different groups if you want. Good luck in the drawings!

I'm in the same boat, Steve. I think I will go back and put in an app for general tag since it doesn't affect my LE chances. What units are you considering and why?
