anyone listen to Ann Romney, Chris Christie, and the others?
Wonderful retoric but it runs smack up against reality, Christie lost me once or twice especially on healthcare, and I thought Ann Romneys "much is given" comment that came straight from the Mormon church was telling.

Point is this, nothing of substance was said or will happen, as I said they would or will run smack up against reality, just as Obama did, its just the way it is.
That said, I like Chris Christies attitude, whether he would stand up to Grover Norquist and company I don't know.

Nothing of substance? wait till the fallout from your man Obama and then you can blame Romney.Your so ignorant!

Typical politics surprises you? The king of empty suits is Obama. Never accomplished a thing in his life and the usefull idiots put him in the white house. How do you like them apples.

Piper did you hear the lady last night saying Obama has never ran a lemonade stand and it shows, the guy is about as worthless as a cut dog at a f#%ken match.

I didn't hear that and its not about one liners, thats what I mean about hot air.

I want to know how problems are going to get solved?, will more tax cuts do the job? what do intitlement cuts mean? who is going to feel the pain? how does the math work out?

Ann Romney said she heard from the people, but how are those concerns going to be addressed? I didn't hear anything

Obama hates rich people except for himself. He is really anti business and has scared the business community. If you owned a business you would know that we have OSHA coming in once a year now instead of every ten years. They need the small fines to pay for their pensions. My payroll taxes are higher today for five employees than they were ten years ago for ten employees. No explanation just raise them every year. Christy was not very impressive and the entire convention is just a commercial so no surprise there. I do think Romney is a leader and Obama is definitely not. We will be better off with Romney.

Glen- I don't know where you get this Obama hates rich people? they are people, no more no less, just because he doesn't worship the wealthy like you think he should doesn't mean he hates them.
This concentrated wealth problem is a big one, make no mistake. Your type has been pushing it for years, and now we are paying for it.

That is because people like me know that if the wealthy don't spend money we are out of business and 6 families are on welfare. I have never sold anything to a poor person. Rich people are what trickle down economics means. If you tax them too much and hassle them with hundreds of new rules to comply with they will close shop and live off of what they have accumulated. If you want to ever see a nickel of your government pension then you need to support fiscal conservatives who will cut the size of government and eliminate the strangle hold public sector unions have. No reform, no cuts and the pensions and social security will be gone. 50% of the country pays $0 in federal income tax so how do you think the bills get paid?

Why would you expect substance from a speech at either party's convention? This can't be your first election, ever heard anything of substance during a convention speech?

I say let's implement the tax increase on everyone making over $250,000 back to the level that Clinton taxed at: That generates a grand total of $87.6 billion a year. So there we just took care of 8.7% of the Trillion deficit. Wonder where the other 91.3% will come from?

How much is $87.6 billion? That equals 15 days of spending in DC, where is anyone serious in this discussion. Obama isn't serious, Ryan isn't serious, Romney isn't serious.

Nemont

Nemont, deficit reduction is not a big priority to any mainstream politician.
They know the sky has not fallen where we are at now, and are not willing to make the suicidal political choices to reduce the deficit.
Now, they may be willing to keep it from growing. That is our best hope, but, most likely a pipe dream.

I never expected much, but how dumb can people really be?

They are going to cut taxes and balance the budget? Nemont, there are blueprints out there on how to solve the budget mess, Clinton did a better job than the others simply because he didn't rely on voodoo economics, and im afraid that is what the republicans are promoting again.

There are many examples on how to cut the cost of healthcare also, but Americans are too stupid and too stubborn to learn, and as I always point out, thats still the biggest driver of the debt.

I don't believe they can cut taxes and balance the budget but if we raise the taxes President Obama wants it will not balance the budget either.

What cuts will the American people accept? Can't cut Medicare, can't cut defense, can't cut medicaid, can't cut social security so in a few years the only things in the budget will be interest on your debt and a few crumbs left over.

Democrats will not get the job done on spending cuts because they believe government is the answer to the problem rather than part of the problem.

We need government and we need to work, we just don't need in every aspect of our lives.

Pipedope, what the f*ck do you even care? It wouldn't have mattered if the whole plan was laid out at the convention and you actually liked it, the fact remains that you are an Obamabot and your vote is therefore set in stone just like Cornhusker and 440.

Even if Romney and Ryan haven't given you a tingle up your leg, please explain to us what Obama has done in 4 years to warrant another term. All you ever did before was whine about Bush's spending problem but Obama's spending problem earns him your vote?

Are you going to conjure up another thread next week with this same title after the Democraps have their convention? Obama cannot even run his campaign based on his own record and has only lies and smear tactics to run on yet somehow you think he is better for America? He has been an abject failure on every single issue including your beloved healthcare yet he has your vote all locked up.

Look back at all the campaign promises that Obama made that have not come true. Gitmo is still open, Iran is closer than ever to having nukes, the economy blows, transparency my ass, and so on and so forth but all you can muster out of your cockholster is that the RNC is just a bunch of hot air. YOU ARE A DUMBASS!

Econ101, You can't raise taxes during a recession!!!Dumocrates will never get this. Econ102, Government bail outs don't work! It's tax payers money. Econ103, You can't spend money you don't have. Who has done all three? Obamanation ( THE AMATURE ) This is what someone with no expirience, No leadership qualities, and no loyalty to this country will do. I beg of you all to go see 2016 and see why he doesn't understand Amercan values.

Government doesn't fix anything and has spent trillions proving it!!!
Let's face it...After Monday and Tuesday, even the calender says WTF!

Anyone who thinks Obama has a clue doesn't remember his first great decision. Take over GM and Chrusler and allow the ex auto union head to be his "auto czar". He decided it was really smart to force the closure of dealerships across the country costing many thousands of jobs. His own people said that was a dumb move. Amateur is an understatement.

The report by Neil M. Barofsky, the special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program of the Treasury Department, said both carmakers needed to shut down some underperforming dealerships. But it questioned whether the cuts should have been made so quickly, particularly during a recession. The report, released on Sunday, estimated that tens of thousands of jobs were lost as a result.

?It is not at all clear that the greatly accelerated pace of the dealership closings during one of the most severe economic downturns in our nation?s history was either necessary for the sake of the companies? economic survival or prudent for the sake of the nation?s economic recovery,? the report said."

Pipe are you gonna watch the democratic national convention?if you miss you can catch it on the comedy cental roast show.

only one way to balance the budget, and shrink the debt........less spending and more people paying taxes. The answer to all problems will be found in job creation, as jobs are created more people become self sufficient.....

+1 berryblaster,

I think America has a small winow of opportunity to take that course in this election. If Obama wins, we're done.

taxes can also be raised to help balance the budget, sorry but its the truth.

And the only way jobs are created is when there is a demand for goods or services, this isn't rocket science, when people use things, buy things and make things they create demand,

The problem with giving wealthy people another general tax cut is the fact that rich people create less demand than the middle class, the middle class spend money because they need to, the rich don't need to, its a fact.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-30-12 AT 06:38PM (MST)[p]Obamas taking from the rich and giving to the poor is not going to fix anything. Obama continues to create more regulations for business and is destroying jobs. With the dems in charge we lose more of are freedom everyday as Obama turns America to socialism and kills the economy and chances of getting out of debt.

AND if you raise taxes nobody has the money to spend and create the demand. NOW do you get it?

Piper, you have to be the biggest f'in moron that has walked the planet......and thats saying alot coming from me cause i usually believe that i take that post!

Raising taxes is not the answer, what that simply entails is putting a lid on the ability for people to progress.....it suggests to the American people that success and wealth is 'wrong'. If you make money than the government is gonna take it from you because its not 'right' for you to have it. Progression and more importantly the drive to progress will dwindle and die in that type of environment and in a world where inflation will never cease to progress failure is assured.....

THE ONLY VIABLE OPTION WITH ANY HOPE OF SUCCESS IS JOB CREATION, PROVIDE PEOPLE NOT WITH ENTITLEMENTS AND ENABLING PROGRAMS BUT WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO SUCCEED THROUGH THEIR OWN EFFORTS!!!

A utopian and successful society is not one where everyone is equal, it is one where everyone has the opportunity to be equal based on their own efforts, its a society where work is available........not one where there is a shortage of it......
