The HSUS has sponsored legislation (Senate Bill 1221) that would ban the use of dogs for the pursuit of bear and bobcat in California.

Fellow Hunters and Trappers its time to unite together and not let these liberals dictate our freedom and way of life. Please send e-mails, letters and phone calls to these Senator Offices and let them know that you disapprove of these Senate Bill proposed changes.

I strongly urge all of you to send an e-mail or call your local Senators and Reps. I sent the following message to 6 District Reps yesterday:

This bill is a blatant attempt to fulfill an obvious anti-hunting agenda, spearheaded by HSUS, the largest anti-hunting Organization in the U.S.

The facts are, California's deer herds are in peril, thanks in no small part to inadequate predator control. And, if you think black bears and bobcats do not prey on deer, I can produce plenty of documented studies to prove otherwise.

The quotas on black bear are far from being filled each Season, and hunting with hounds is a very effective means of helping to manage an overpopulation of bears.

When I grew up in Northern California, seeing a bear was a very rare occurence. Seeing a Mountain Lion was almost unheard of. The deer herds were flourishing.

Nowadays, we have mountain lions and bears showing up near schools, parks, and many near urban locations. And the deer herds are at an all time low. Personally, I see bears and/or mountain lions almost every time I go into the wilderness. Seeing a legal buck is a rare thing.

I urge you to do everything you can to help oppose SB 1221, to help preserve deer and elk hunting in our great State for future generations.

Yeah, that petition was hooked up with "causes" or something...they've been spamming me for a couple weeks now.

I think it's just an online "petition maker"...so once they have your e-mail address, they will send you newsletters until you unsubscribe.

They cannot be used for writing your Congressmen, whining about mountain lions, 2nd Ammendment surveys, or bringing Ronald Reagan or John Wayne, back from the grave.

You want to state your point of view, you need a pencil and a stamp. Why do you think groups like the NRA...etal, send you those neat little cards? If an online petition was viable, they would all use them.

Two weeks from now, you will be on some survey that says you think Jane Fonda is a Patriot!
