LAST EDITED ON Aug-08-03 AT 01:36PM (MST)[p]hello,
Im the one who found these horns, the single horn my son jacob is holding is the match off the horn in his right hand in the bottom picture.these two horns would gross around 210. I shot this buck the next year, it scored 231. I have 5 sheds off the deer. my story was in both trophy hunter, and eastmans called "cream of the crop" last year.

I live in ontario oregon, it is on the eastern side of the state, the buck was a farm land buck, only about 10 miles out of the city limits. I hunted it for three years, the 2nd year, I shot a arrow clear through it but hit it too far back, but he lived, so the third year I finaly got a 2nd chance and made it count, at 32 yrds!

I've been to Ontario, OR. I helped install a computer system at a feed lot in Nyssa, sp? I was there in Jan of 01 and never saw the sun! With all of the agriculture it's easy to imagine good deer being there.
If I remeber right, we weren't allowed to pump our own gas? Why is that? We also ate a a grill that specialized in a hamburger with a fried egg on it. Pretty cool memories.

Awesome buck man! Thanks for sharing. I've got several bucks that I've picked up sheds from for several seasons and would love to get them on the ground this fall. That's awesome that you were able to do just that. Congrats.

Man what a great buck.
Congratulations on a monster!
Awesome that you got the sheds and the deer.
Bet you relive the hunt over and over many a sleepless night.
Best of luck on another giant this year.
Jerry

thanks alot!
you wouldnt belive how many times each day I replay the events of taking this deer. the other employees are getting sick of hearing the story, and my wife can tell the story better than me.if I had any advise for someone who wants to take a big buck, is DONT give up, it takes more time and effort than you can beleive, and remember to pass up the small ones.
