This is probably much too simple minded for AZ to even consider. But just a thought. Most regular hunters would probly agree that the states offering these tags have started the problems we're seeing and hence share some burden of the bad pub.
Sure it's a very noble idea that the $100k plus the guy buys the tag for goes directly to the improvement of the species, habitat, etc... But, we see what it has created. So, stop selling this kind of bulls#%* permit, stop the damn near canned hunt, stop helping line the pockets of the world famous outfitters to boot, and just add $1.00 next year to the elk application fee.
If I'm not mistaken that would generate about $130k for the elk program, about the same kind of $ the tag generated roughly. This would put a financial burden of a buck on each of us to make a statement for what's just plain wrong with this tag. It would also keep the pet bull from being wacked in front of the bunny huggers' cabins 'cause he probly moves somewhere else to rut.
