AZ Unit 17A Antelope

After submitting 20+ goat applications to AZG&F I finally drew one of only three coveted 2013 antelope permits in AZ Hunt Unit 17A. The AZG&F website explains roughly where the herds reside. I'm looking for detail. I understand pockets of private property offer access challenges and that some of these landowners grant access, sometimes for a fee. Several scouting trips are in my immediate future between now and September 6th. Can you point me in the right direction to harvest a good buck? Thanks for your help.

Congrats! You will want to check out the very northwest corner of Unit 17A around the New Water Camp on the Yavapai Ranch. It is a checkerboard of USFS and private land and all open to hunting.

If you want the name of a guide that lives and breaths the unit, give JP Vicente a call of Big Chino. They've killed some slammers out of there, including his sons if I remember correctly. I've hunted 3x with them for elk and mule deer.
