Shooting a TC Encore with BH209 for a youth elk hunt in NM. Which bullets do you prefer and why?

My son drew a muzzleloader youth tag in NM and we are getting equally good results with 110 grains by volume of powder from the 250 grain Barnes TEZ and the Parker Ballistic Extreme bullets. Both grouping great to 300 yards.

I can't speak for the parkers, haven't tried them but I will vouch for the Barnes muzzle bullets. I've shot them for 20 years and they are as advertised.

I've shot both out of my CVA Accura Mountian Rifle. Decided on Barnes TEZ. Even better, I moved up to 290 from 250 and the ballistics were even better. Used to shot pellets then switched to BH209 and never looking back. I found my best results was 90 grains by volume. My gun too is really accurate out to 300yds shooting this combo.

Here?s a Barnes 50 cal. TEZ 290 grains taken out of a mule deer buck that it killed at 180 yds. Can?t ask for any better of a mushroom than that.
