Bear Question

I was thinking of purchasing a bear tag this season and had some questions about bear hunting that the big game booklet did not clear up for me:

1)Upon killing a bear, is the hunter required to take all the meat? If you were deep in the backcountry do you have to pack out all the meat?

2)What is the minimum caliber required?

Thanks for any help.

1) Yes...Why wouldn't you?

2) Any center fire rifle cartridge...Or a shotgun with slugs

I don't think you are allowed to leave any meat behind if a big game animal is harvested.
