I'm wanting to give the Berger bullets a try out of my 300 Weatherby Ultralight. I was wondering if anyone has had good luck with them out of a free bored rifle. I would like to give the 155 and 185 grain Hunting VLD bullets a whirl. I was hoping to find some info on the web about this subject but haven't had much luck. I have heard so much about their accuracy and performance on game that I'm really hoping to make them work. My dad shoots 210 grainers out of his 300 RUM and those things are amazingly accurate.

I also want to try some 115 grainers out of my 25-06. Anyone got any good recipes they could share?

Thanx in advance!

I've been told you have to stick by the twist they recommend or they wont group.

i had good luck with the 185s...dumped a spike bull at 600 yards with one shot. after i played with the 210s, i never looked back.

I am a fan of the Berger VLD hunting bullets. While I do have a 300 Wby, I currently shoot the 180 Scirocco II. I would lean towards the 210 VLD bullets though. That high BC will shine at long range.

I do shoot the 25-06 and 115 Berger Hunting VLDs though. My OCW load is
Remington brass,
Fed GM210M primer,
53.4 gr H4831-SC,
115 Hunting-VLD Berger seated .090" off of the lands

This load is safe in my gun, reduce 10% and work up for your gun.

Here are some pics of my load development:

I also like the Berger 140 gr Hunting-VLD in my 6.5-284 and 260 Rem. The 300 gr Hybrid is also ok in the 338 Lapua Mag.
