What is the best TV show?

Why do you watch?
Why do you turn channel?
What type show do you want to see more of?

I like new DIY show...name I cannot remeber.
I watch shows with western big game.
Another is "Hunting with the Pros"

I like shows with tips and informative info.
I watch bow hunting shows over rifle hunts
More remote the adventure the better.

On Your Own Adventures is my favorite. Season 2 is gonna be sweet, they filmed a couple sheep hunts this year and killed some hawgs!

I really like Shockey and the best of the west isnt bad.

AX MEN, I'M in oregon, and work in the wood products ind. love those loggers!

Jimmy big time hands down...to funny

Any shockey show with his dad, that man cracks me up! Eastmans and best of the west, eastmans cause they're very informative. Both because they're western shows. Don't see very many whitetails on there shows which is awesome!

I like Arrow Affliction hosted by Chris Bracket. He is kind of a punk, but I like his viewer challenges. I also like Bowhunter TV. It's quite informative. Randy Ulmer has a tip section in each series.
If its bowhunting and has deer or elk, i'm watching it. Predator Nation is also good.I don't care too much for all the turkey, hogs or safari animals.

On your own adventure is great. Only saw about 3 episodes and can';t seem to find it anymore. TIVO doesn't seem to pick it up either. Best of the west, Eastmans, and even mossback I TIVO and watch when I get a minute.

My personal preference:

1. On Your Own Adventures with Randy Newberg
2. Jim Schocky
3. Eastman's

Anything that doesn't include Turkeys or Steve's Outdoor Adventures, oh what's the difference?

i am tired of all of them, they are not hunting the same animals you or i can.the bulls i see after a 4 to 6 mile hike into the colorado wilderness dont quite match up to the ones they take out in 1 piece in the back of their pick ups,or the 170 inch whitetail they shot after 2 days in the stand c-mon like i said i am sick of them and dont watch them anymore

That Randy Newberg is a clown aint he? J/K BigFin :)

Any hunting show with Stan Potts and Fred Eichler. I love Stan's melodramatic's and Freds excitement after he harvests an animal.

Next would be High Stakes Poker, WPT or WSOP!

Steve

Sportscenter supercedes any of the above...

Arrow Affliction

Jim Shokey

Eastmans

Some other real good ones too........that are not sitting in a treestand over a food plot and then saying they hunted hard for 10-12 hours....sitting the stand! ha!

I agree with the guys that said no whitetails or turkey. I like to see something hunted that I don't hunt around here. Of course we don't know what hunts are high fenced and what are fair chase when it comes to WT deer. Some of them truly make me sick though....here are my picks as best shows for me:

1. On your own adventures....really good show

2. Best of the West

3. Jim Shockey's show

4. Eastman's hunting

Any hunting show WITHOUT turkey hunting or canned hunts in the N/NE at "Antler Ranches" is fine with me!

The one with shockeys dad and dad in law hunting whitetails last week killed me, how funny it is that Shockeys dad doesn't care about trophys. Eastmans, Christensens, and Mossbacks(yes I know and I am not a fan of what and how he does it)and especially the DIY show, but anything that isn't another whitetail in an open field eating custom engineered grass.

No doubt Reddog. Better keep an eye on that Big Fin guy. He is a clown of the highest degree. :) If you don't believe me, just ask his wife.

Have you seen On Your Own Adventures? Everything they hunt, you can hunt too...thats the point of the show. Sounds to me like you are their target audience.

I like most of the ones, like most here, that showcase Western Big Game hunting and a couple others like Tracks Across Africa. Then there are a few fishing programs i can get all up into, No Bass, but...

For all out entertainment, i really look forward to watching The PBR, Professional Bull Riders Series just about every weekend. Excellent stuff!!!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-10-10 AT 08:40PM (MST)[p]heartland bowhunter is an awesome show.
great camera angles and great editing!
every episode tells a great story beginning to end.

HEY BIGFIN CONGRATS ON YOUR SHOW....YOU HAVE A WINNER BECAUSE OF YOUR APPROACH.... DIY MODE IS VERY APPEALING AS WELL. ITS BECOME A MUST WATCH FOR ME....GLAD TO SEE YOUR DOING WELL....TAKE CARE ......YD.

I DVR almost all of the western big game shows on DirecTV and had never seen "On Your Own Adventures" for some reason. It wasn't until BigFin went out of his way to help me out on a deer hunt after he filmed an elk hunt in the same unit that I found out about it. It is now my favorite show. I also like "Best of the West" and "Eastmans' Hunting Journal". "Big Game Profiles", "Christensen's Outdoors", "Jim Shockey", "Bowhunter Magazine TV", "Hunting With the Pros", and a few others are good depending on the episode and what they are hunting. I am sure I left a few good shows out that don't immediately come to mind...

DIY Hunter is great, So is Eastmans, Christensons is good.. Mossback is okay... they need to cut out the stills for filler... show the hunt preparations.. the real cutouts where the fat hunter is struggling and winded up the mountain... the real thing.

I get the three main hunting channels... sportsmans, Outdoors and the Hunting channel... but only the Outdoorsmans description of the episodes tell you the kind of animal they are hunting... which is great. Like many here I understand Turkey Ambushing and Whitetail deer growing is all some folks have back east... I do prefer the western style of hunting that are not over baited fields... Sorry Uncle Ted.. I like you and think the family is great but loose the high fence hunts.

Jim Shockey has to be the all time best though.

Two words.
Colorado. Buck.

Fin's show is alright I guess, but when I want to enjoy hunting, I expect long, beautifully manicured, blond hair accompanying the host. As well as multiple shots over 500 yards on moving herds of animals. You'd do well to give both of these things a try Fin.

Thats why i love the jimmy big time show. He makes fun of all the things the other hunting shows try to pull over your eyes

PORN! Hard core nasty stuff, like "Eel does Dallas" or Kilo in "What ever happens in the old folks home stays there!" Or Fat master does "The red headed Fat farm". Thats the best.
