Just wanted to let all of you know to take extra precaution on your hunting trips this year.

I just went to colorado for our yearly out of state trip and stopped in vegas on the way home to southern Calif.

Checked into Silverton Casino and parked in the Bass Pro Shops parking lot c. Checked in approx 10:30AM on Tuesday 11/6/07. Went and got some grub. Went gift shopping for the wife and kids at Bass Pro and dropped off the gifts at the truck around 1:30PM on Tuesday. After checking out of the hotel yesterday (Wednesday) morning, we walk out to the parking lot and Truck and trailer was gone.

Our truck had our jumping jack trailer locked to it. Our two quads were locked on top of the trailer. Neeless to say all of our toys were inside the truck. Spotting scopes, binoculars, rangefinders, bows, two rifles, two glocks, packs, hunting clothes, three coolers and the list goes on........

To top it all off, my 22" 4x4 buck was in the back of the truck and my extra beer!!!!!!!

Lock everything up!! Including trailer tires or use "the club."

Hope everyone had a good trip this year.

They really need to take the arms off at the elbows with maggots like that when they catch 'em.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your stuff! I know how it feels on a smaller scale. I had a bag stolen right out from under me in SLC last year. I had just set it in the truck and gone back in the motel room. When I came back with another bag, one was missing and a minivan was driving away. It was lucky for them I couldn't catch them. The bag had my Wy license/tag, binoculars, spotting scope, knives, ammo, cameras(with pics from previous hunt), and a binder with journals, notes, contacts from twenty years of hunt trips throughtout the west. Never heard anything back from SLC police. This year I saw a cop filling out a report in another SLC motel parking lot with a guy who had some stuff stolen. I hope they catch the scumbags!

My heart goes to you guys, I hope you get everything back. All that hard work for that deer gone. Hopefulley that does'nt discourage Jerry & Jimmy from Hunting here in my backyard. Vegas P.D better do its job and catch them @#$% and cut their ^&* off . Any pics of your stuff missing .Your hunting partner Guido

Don't worry Guido.

We are already talking about next year.

We won't let this stop us.

All we can do is keep plugging away.

Thanks again for the help skinning the deer

Update.

I just got the call from the Vegas PD that the truck was recovered on 11/10/07.

It does not sound as if they recovered the trailer/quads. Vegas PD could not release an inventory list over the phone. I have to either go in person or mail in a request for the copy of the report.

I am making arrangements as to get the truck back ASAP.

I will keep everyone posted.

Glad to hear they recovered your vehicle. If they catch those scumbags send em down our way and we will throw them in a pit full of cottonmouths.

2nd Update.

Our truck was recovered minus the trailer, quads, two rifles, one bow, two handguns, and one ipod.

Everything else was returned (including all glass.)

My deer horns/skull was also returned.

I figure right now I am ahead of the game.

Still working on the missing items. I will list an update if they show up.

3rd update.

As it turns out, our two rifles and one bow were recovered when they found the truck.

North Las Vegas Police department unfortunately, neglected to mention this to me. I found out only because I requested a copy of the report that inventoried the items when the truck was recovered.

Remainder still missing: one ipod, two glocks, one trailer, two quads.

I will repost if anything else shows up.

Jimmy,
Could you describe the quads and trailer. Its a long shot but I drive around Vegas quite a lot and am always noticing quads and trailers and such. I'll keep an eye out for ya.

Thanks for the offer.

The trailer is a jumping jack trailer. Hard to describe but here is a link to their website. www.jumpingjacktrailers.com

Quads: Both are Yamaha 450's in camouflage. One is a 2006 Kodiak and the other a 2007 Grizzly. The Grizzly has a red "motoloco" decal on the front right fender and a red/yellow "big hammer" decal on the right rear fender; along with other misc decals. Both of the quads have an aftermarket addtional muffler installed and plainly visible from the rear. It is the Kolpin ATV stealth exhaust system.

Thanks again for all the help.

Man you are dang lucky to get that much back! For sure you are ahead of the game!

I am sure the Glocks are gone for good. They have been sold to some bangers in Vegas and will shortly turn up in various murder and robbery investigations - you don't want them back. Either that or the cops kept them as "throw down weapons" - either way, you will never see them again. Hope you find the quads and the trailer and they are not too torn up!

Good luck!
