yup. saw this coming. it was inevitable with the population growth and social media blitz.

Just fine with me. 10 days otc hunting in early January the last couple years and saw nothing but does.

I see this as a positive move. Not so much for coues, but for the mule deer. They’ve been hammered from all sides: drought, habitat loss, exploding population. Some of the units are almost devoid of mule deer anymore. I went out in January to an old stomping ground and never saw one deer, not even a doe! First time that has happened. Some of those units around the Phoenix metro area are a slaughter house.

Yeah, it’s going to suck not being able to hunt my are in Dec and Jan, but I’m on board with the changes. For the record, my success rate the last 10 years is less than 1%...haha...so I’m kinda helping out! ?

Something had to be done to help the mule deer.

Glad I'm not alone AZ8!!!!

You can blame the drought and the Youtubers...but don't forget the 2000 doe tags that were available up there for years! The heard has been reduced to the point at which even small environmental changes, or increased predator issues, are devistating!

Huh? Outside of a junior hunt on the Kiabab there hasn't been a doe hunt in AZ for well over 20 years. That has ZERO to do with why they're dropping tags
