Binos or spotting scope?

I need help in deciding what to get. I will be hunting eastern montana badlands and was wondering if it would be better to get a pair of binos or a spotting scope. I dont want to go above $300 dollars if that makes a difference. Also could you tell me what size I would need to be able to spot from a long ways away? Thanks in advance.

If its only one or the other, get binos. You'll use them more often. Based on what you want to spend, you can probably get a pair of Pentax or Nikon in 10X or 12X.
