LAST EDITED ON Aug-06-19 AT 09:13PM (MST)[p]A buddy and his dad drew the book cliffs north tag. Good guys and good hunters.

Any info you can give them will be appreciated.

I have hooked them up with people here before and the have reciprocated info back to a few guys on here that was helpful. They have hunted CO, NM, ID, WY and CA for deer and elk.

PM me or email him. His name is Neal Lopez.

Thanks

General Info: There are lots of deer and he will not have trouble finding deer. Drive out the main paved road (seep ridge road I think). As soon as you hit trees, you are in deer country. Go a bit further about to the Indian ridge turn off or wherever you start seeing a million trailers. most of deer will be about this far from the top for the rifle. You can head east or west from there and you will have deer in about every draw there is for miles. Pass up 50 3x3s and 4x3s until you find the 4x4 your looking for.

Anyway, all he needs is one good evening driving the ten thousand roads out there. When you hit the right elevation or areas for deer, you will know it.

Not My Style of Huntin but what Heartshot just Posted is Good Info!

pretty good advice. I have a little.

1. Don't ride a four wheeler or side by side around
2. Cover lots of country and do lots of glassing. Huge area. Don't waste all day walking a ridge down there. Drive and glass off points, cover a lot of country. Up your odds!
3. a guy can expect to find him a 160 buck pretty easy. There are a few monsters down there, but not what it used to be. Still a very fun hunt.

Thanks rubble. I will pass it on. Appreciate it.

My brother has the same tag, so we will be down there as well. Everyone I have talked to has echoed the same advice as above. We have been down there on multiple elk hunts but this is the first time on the rifle deer so we are excited to see what we can turn up. Good luck and maybe we will see your friend down there.

Good luck on your hunt stillwaitin.

Thanks for the input.

They will be driving a white crewcab Chevy or GMC diesel.
