Got back from the Full Curl Social this afternoon and those that were not there missed out on one of the biggest, and exciting things to come around for a long time. I just want to thank Don Peay and Karl Malone for creating an opportunity to give back to us that dream so big about hunting sheep! Sometimes conservation and all that goes in to it gets boring, or forgotten and is hard to get fired up excited about. Because of that many IMO loss interest in the groups that lead this charge. Peay has to be a genus at a time when a rally cry from sportsmen is needed more than any time. He and Karl have created something that IMO will steam roll through the sheep hunting community like wild fire.

In short here is what I got is the purpose of this Society... to give back to so many that have pioneered sheep hunting, these seasoned sheep fanatics have the chance to pass on to those who are young that have caught "sheep Fever" an attainable goal of hunting sheep even on a middle class income. With the help of a few with generous harts and a desire to keep sheep hunting live and vibrant in the harts of those who dream to some day hunting all 4 North American Sheep. To bring all sheep hunters and those that want to hunt sheep together for one cause- to protect our sheep- to fix the problems sheep are having and to help each other out.

I was drop jawed when I witnessed sheep hunters getting chances to hunt a sheep they've never hunted by just becoming a member and attending the social. Each person had at least 3 chance to win a sheep hunt that was bought through donations by generous men with big dreams for future sheep hunters and there generations of sheep hunters. 10 hunts were given away to "US" poor sheep hunters and this list spread across the country from N.C to Nevada. One guy who had killed 3 sheep drew a hunt and was asked what he needed to finish his Full Curl and the guy said a Desert! Don said "OK" done!.... thee most coveted tag and most expensive to buy was his just like that for $40.

As a young sheep dreamer I love this idea. It opened my eyes to really who these guys are that put on these events and though they get hammered many times on here they put there money where their mouth is and that is the fact. Awesome.

Congratulation to those 10 people who drew sheep hunts and to Don and Karl for making this a successful inaugural event. Thank you for all that you do!!!!!!!!

> I just want to
>thank Don Peay and Karl
>Malone for creating an opportunity
>to give back to us
>that dream so big about
>hunting sheep!

Yea right. Now we can "dream" about hunting sheep along with dreaming about hunting elk. Thats all the the average hunter will be able do is dream about hunting if DK Pay and Sportsman for The Wealthy continues have their way.

That is awesome broomer. Glad that different issues are being addressed. Everything I have heard about Karl Malone is that he is a first class guy.

To bad there are so many bitter people out there that do not appreciate it.

Sheep are not jack rabbits. There are limited numbers and guess what not everyone will be able to hunt them. First they do not live where everyone is physically capable of hunting them and second it takes planning.

do you have a better plan ? now is your chance !!
put up or shut up!!
i think everyone would like to see your plan you big talker!!!
utah sucks but everyone has a better plan lets see yours!

Another money maker for the few.
Seriously, they just gave away 10 sheep hunts. Some to people who otherwise might never have gotten the opportunity, and negativity is the best that you have? One tag donated is better than the zero tags you have purchased for someone else. Most of us can't afford these tags, but it opens a door and brings awareness and interest to the cause. People have to stop looking at every situation and asking "how does that help me" and start asking how might this help my kid or the sport down the road. People are trying to benefit the sport I love, and although I may not alway agree with what they do, I applaud there effort and support until someone comeus up with a better solution and actually does more than just talk about it.

It was an awsome event! About 750 sportsmen and women there. Good info on sheep populations in the west and Alaska.

Identified the problems. For sheep and wildlife/hunting in general.

Gave some solutions.

I don't know of one person who went that wasn't glad he did.

Thanks to Don,Karl and all who helped out.

Thanks to Mr. Mower for writing a check for 100K to help provide hunts for just the ave hunter who have dreams of hunting sheep.

Thanks for remembering our soldiers who give there all.

It was a great day.

Sounds like a great turn out.

It seems for everything that is ever done with good intentions there is a line of people to back stab and be negative.

My only hope is that those people that never have anything good to say are doing something on their own to promote hunting for the future besides complain.

Another great day for the average hunter, for those of you that can't see that I don't know how to explain it to you. Don & Karl stepped up and delivered another great way to help out those that want to hunt, rich and poor alike. Thanks Don, Thanks Karl, Thanks to the other big donors. Keep getting it done!!!

This was an awesome event. I have heard a lot of negative about Don Peay in the past and had little experience in personal dealing with him. After this event I fully support him and think he is a first class guy. Karl Malone was awesome as well. I think we should get behind this group because they get things done. They have a plan and more importantly they have proven that they follow through on their plans. They are also very aware of the the predator (wolf) problem and they have a plan for that as well. I believe if anyone can fix our sheep problems these guys can. Anyone who has hopes to hunt sheep needs to get behind this group in anyway possible.

HOLY SH*T!!

Can someone explain to me how giving away 10(TEN!!!!!) sheep hunts to people that otherwise could never afford it is a bad thing. Or how just because Don Peay is associated with something automatically makes it something evil. WTH is with people? Nothing is ever good enough, someone is always pulling something over on us unsuspecting dupes, the net overall positive results are never worth it unless we agree 110% with whatever decision comes down.

As for the whole rich vs. poor argument-- I saw a man at the social write out a $100,000 check just to help those of us who can't afford to hunt sheep have at least one chance in a barrell to live our dreams. Not to mention the other evil rich folks that so generously donated to get this whole thing started! They are all people that I would be excited to meet and call my friends even though I don't know any of them. Sheesh, I get tired of this mentality.

I am not a big fan of the SFW but the Full Curl Society was AWESOME. Say what you wnat about it. I know when most of us hear the name Don Peay what we instantly think. But this Full Curl Society was incredible. There were people crying when they won the Stone Sheep hunts. Pretty amazing. It was well worth my $40.00 just to watch so many people have a dream fullfilled.
My advice for these that were not there. Go next year and then give us your opinion. Most likely you will be singing a different tune. Also, I tip my hat to Karl.

I was also there and it was awesome to watch those 10 people win a dream of a lifetime! I will likely never draw a tag at full curl, but I will continue to support them 100% because their sole purpose is to help the little guy! If you don't believe that, ask the Kid from Spanish Fork that won the sheep hunt! He had never even heard of Full Curl until Saturday afternoon, but out of the blue, walked in and joined and won a hunt! Pretty cool!
