buying more deer points

I have 10 non-resident deer points going into the 2009 draw. My question is, do I need to buy points to be able to put into the draw? I fiqure 10 points is enough, I don't want to give anymore money to buying the license. When I look at the odds, buying anymore points only ups your odds very little. I'm tired of playing the legal Nevada lottery! Thanks

I think that if you fail to apply for 2 consecutive years, your points go to 0. Not sure what Nevada's definition of "apply" is. You may need to purchase a license/point every other year.

You can apply with out buying a license and click on the tab that says only purchase hunting license if tag drawn. However you will not recieve any points, and you will not loose your points. The only way you will loose your points is if you fail to apply for 2 consecutive years, or you are drawn for a tag.

If you don't buy the points, your odds of drawing over the upcoming years will get worse and worse. I know it gets pricey but if you want to hunt a good unit, you gotta do it.

You can only buy one point per species every year. Meaning, you cannot buy 10 points for a deer tag in one year so it takes years to accumulate them making it fair for both the rich and the poor. fatrooster.
