Went to the Cabela's in Kansas City again this weekend on my way thru, and was once again blown away by the magnitude of the deer they have in their "Mule Deer County" exhibit. For those of you who are really hurting for a fix, get in the car and drive! You will not be disappointed. Several of the top 20 B&C muleys, and a lot of just outstanding specimens. Also had the WA state record Elk and several other really impressive elk in there this time that were not there last time.
On another note, they must be hosting the B&C festivities this year or something b/c they had several areas cleared out upstairs and had on temporary display several trophies, including some coues (picked up?) by Kirk Kelso, and that monster whitetail killed by the kid in Iowa last fall. It was just up on the wall in a back room...my wife and kids and I were all alone with it...so we hung the baby on the wall, put the head in the stroller and took off running! (Not really, but it would have made for an interesting,"What are you in jail for?" story.)
What an amazing display of incredible animals...muskox, sheep, mtn. lions, deer, elk (2 of Chuck Adams'), Bison, etc. Anybody know about this B&C stuff being there? Kirk Kelso?
