Show of hands, how many are playing pumpkin patch death match on the Cache this year? My mind isn't all that willing and the flesh is weak but I will probably make a showing for my daughter's sake. The older I get the less inviting some of that terrain seems.

Been racking my brain trying to come up with an area to get away from the crowd. Every place I look at on the map has a road, 4wheeler trail or hiking trail with close proximity.

As much area as there is in that unit, I generally seem to end up to the North/East of Ephraim's. I'll be the one in the 21 year old Ford that looks like hell on wheels.

I'll be up there with my son, my good friend and his two sons. Looking forward to it as we have a first time deer hunter in our group. IMO there are more people up there opening weekend of the spike elk hunt than opening weekend of the deer hunt. Good luck and stay safe.
