Camping in 192

I'm a little disappointed with the possibility of finding a "camping" spot in this unit. My son and I each drew a deer tag and have heard there is no public places to camp? That is what I've been told but I honestly have a hard time believing it. Is that true that I may have to stay down at Topaz in a campground or go to a trailer park of some sort? Does anyone have any good news for me? I would appreciate any input.

Also, if anyone knows of any private land that we'd be able to just camp on, it would be greatly appreciated. We would leave it exactly the way we found it. Thanks.

South of Garderville - Double Sprgs. area,possibly.Worse case, r.v park at Holbrook Station,again on South end of unit.Last week of hunt dates look good,Good Luck, Bruce & SilverGrand

Wiz...there is a BLM campground on the Calif. side at Indian Creek Reservoir, between Woodfords and Markleeville.

kilbuc- forget the pm...I looked it up already. That might be farther than what we'd like to have to drive every morning to hunt. Have looked into the RV park at Carson City though. Not sure if I want to "camp" in a park though.

Minden is a nice small town and a good Basque Restaurant there too.

If you hunt the Genoa Peak area their are camping spots on South shore between state line and Spooner summit.

If you're talking about being that close to Carson maybe the Moonlight Bunny Ranch or KitKat would let you camp on their property.

Seriously dude, it might be hard to find "unimproved camping" in the area. Here's a few places recommended by Good Sam Club
