Can't Apply for a General Deer Point Now?

LAST EDITED ON Mar-03-12 AT 12:58PM (MST)[p]I guess this is correct as I am applying for my bonus points now and I can apply for all of them except General Deer? That is sort of messed up if you ask me.

Just found this in the guidebook:


Applying for a preference
point
Even if you won't be hunting general-season
buck deer in 2012, you can still apply for a
preference point by selecting code GDR on your
application and paying a $10 application fee. The
application period is Feb. 1?March 8, 2012

Guess I have to contact someone tomorrow.

From the DWR website application page:

"Big Game: Applications for permits, bonus points and preference points will be accepted from 8:00 a.m. February 1st until 11:00 p.m. March 1st, 2012.

From 11:00 p.m., March 1st until 11:00 p.m. March 8th, only bonus point and preference point applications will be accepted."

Yeah, if you are having an issue, give the DWR a call first thing Monday morning, they should be able to help. Also, you do need to have a valid hunting license to apply. Good luck!
