Check into Forty-Mile Air service out of Tok. They do drop hunts that have been 100% for years. They start taking reservations for openings in 2008 next month in December. They book up very fast. www.40-mileair.com. Good time to go is late August.

I went out with PaPa Bear Adventures this last Sept. Flew in and spent 7 days on the hunt. They didn't guide but they sure knew where to put us to be on the caribou. Great people, Steve his wife and the pilot. They are out of Bethel AK. you can contact them at [email protected] or (907) 543-5275
Good luck!

My dad went with Courageous Lake in NWT and had the hunt of a lifetime. Shot two great caribou and his parter did as well and then they enjoyed unbelievable fishing for a few days and my dad does not like fishing but did there. They went on the first hunt the first week of August I believe, they wanted them still in the velvet.
I went to the Northwest Territories with John Andre, Shoshone Wilderness Adventures last season. Everything about the hunt was perfect, shot two caribou/one wolverine and caught big lake trout. He has six seasons, we went the first. The caribou are in velvet until the 4th season.
