NO joke this is a set. they were layin right by eachother about 40 yards off the road under a tree. the huge two point frame side has a 7 inch base and the base is hollowed out in a cone shape and the other side is 6 and a half inch base with a dropper. its the craziest buck ive ever seen.

cool finds, i would like to know what causes that hollowed out base. i have a horn just like it. it's a huge 2 point with about a 4 inch extra down by his bases that looks like a corkscrew.
oh ya, and i too would like to know whats up with that hat:)

oops wrong button. That is a awsome find

From what I have heard. A taxidermist friend said that a disease causes that antler configuration. The antlers are real porous. Its called EHD, eppozoic hemeragic disease (sp?) something like that. I got a few sheds like that. He got a whitetail in to mount this year that was the same way.

WOW!!! that is a freak and some neat sheds to!
sorry, couldnt resist the chance.

I have picked up sheds of deer that are stags and their horns grow like that. Really porus and very light for the size of the antler.

Now I see why you pack a gun on all of your shed outings, you're afraid someone's going to take your hat! Cool shed's man, you're having a great year.
