I got to thinking the other day about check stations because at the recent RAC meeting they brought up that just as many deer were killed this year with the 3-day hunt than the last couple of years. This is crazy! Not only was the weather awful 2 of the 3 days in the North the deer weren't were they normally hang this time of year. How can they say that the half a dozen deer they check every year at the check stations is a good way to count harvest numbers? I think it'd be a better idea to work something out with meat processing places so that they send in numbers. I know some people cut up there own animals but I think it'd be a much better gauge than a few check stations.
