Was able to spend the last week in CO with good friends hunting 3rd season elk. We hunted hard this year and really put the miles in each day. I owe a couple buddies big time for helping pack this one off the mountain. It was no easy task, but we got 'er done.
I was able to harvest this bull at 382 yards from my .300 win mag after wanting to look over just "one more ridge". Double lung shot put him down quick. He's a very symmetrical bull overall - very happy with him.
We were able to get this meat cooled out very quick with the snow and low overnight temps. Should be good eating too!
What do you think he scores? Not that it really matters to me, but I'm curious. To me he's just a perfect example of a good sized 6 pt CO bull.
