I have a few deer and elk racks that I am wanting to do something with. Anyone seen or have any ideas other than the typical rack on a plaque mount?

quality of perseverance. It overcomes
almost everything, even nature.

I posted these under the taxidermy heading too. Maybe not what you're looking for, but I think they're pretty cool. Espcially for African stuff.

These are from the original Jonas Brother Taxidermy of New York (not the Colorado based studio). I think you would have to go through them to get your antlers or horns mounted. I am starting to work on an oryx version of these. I may try some other species. We'll see how they come out.

"They look dead and too stagnant for my taste. "

They are definately not for everyone. But somebody looking for something different. The same reason you don't like these is the reason I don't like euro mounts. Nothing says "dead and stagnant" like a bleached out skull.

As an alternative to the good old wood plaque you might check into Skull Hooker European Skull Mounting brackets. They are sleek and fully adjustable so you can get a more natural upright look.
