CWD and Wolves

For many years the wolf experts have claimed that wolves can prevent CWD in deer. This expert suggests the opposite is true.

It has been documented that CWD can be transported to new areas by wolves. That wolves will cross barriers that elk will not and as a result they can carry the prion from infected elk into areas where there is not any prions.

There is no way that a wolf can prevent or cure CWD. They can kill animals with it, but that does not eliminate CWD from the system.

I totally agree. The wolf becomes a carrier of the disease. The Mountain Lion is not effected by CWD however it becomes a carrier of CWD as per biologist.
