CWD IN UTAH???

2 things can be true at once. Well 3.

Don't use Ted Nugent for hunter spokesman

CWD is real, and is becoming more real in the west.

Killing all the bucks, to stop all the bucks from dying, is stupid

Yep, CWD is real and the prions have been around for well over 40 years in Colorado.

The truth is, the sky isn't falling down with CWD. You would think that if prions continued to build in the soil for over 40 years that there wouldn't be any deer still left. This is far from the truth and deer are doing great 40+ years later! Like I've been saying all along, the genetics for CWD resistance is likely higher in older aged bucks since they potentially come in contact with more CWD positive deer and have survived numerous years with prions in the soil. How many old age class bucks have been shot each and every year....and ended up testing positive for CWD. They look totally healthy with lots of fat on their carcasses by hunters that harvested them.

There are plenty of giant, old age bucks running around the Arsenal in Colorado where prions have been around almost as long as CWD has existed in Colorado! These mature bucks are passing along their excellent genetics that improves the health and resilience of the herd.

My guess is that a mossy-horned buck that has totally exhausted his reserves during the rut and still survives several winters is passing along a lot more experience and great genetics than if all that is available for does to mate are young bucks, The young bucks have not been tested by time and elements and have no experience surviving multiple winters, drought, predators, etc. You can be assured that young bucks learn how to survive if they hang out with older bucks in bachelor buck groups after the rut through the winter, summer, and early fall.

Yep, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, let's kill all the older age class bucks! One of the dumbest management schemes I have ever heard of in my lifetime!

I'm not saying that CWD doesn't kill deer but I've always been an advocate that predators do a great job of thinning out the weak and sick. The remaining deer are generally pretty darn healthy!

Colorado Has Smacked Their Deer Herd HARD!

Yup I have to agree with uncle Ted. It’s all bull sh-t. They’ve had it for a thousand years. We recently haveTechnology to find it. Otherwise we wouldn’t know anything about it.

The Arsenal in Colorado doesn't allow hunting and is surrounded by high fence. They found CWD on the Arsenal in the 1980's. The prions have been in the soil on the Arsenal for 40+ years and still kicking out super healthy pop-eyeish, mossy-horned bucks!

Take a look at the photo tour section on this website. Most of the Hawg Heaven photos taken by Peter Eade's over the past 20 years were taken on the Arsenal,

First recognized in captive mule & black-tailed deer

June 6, 1979
CWD was first recognized in captive mule deer and black-tailed deer at the Wyoming Fish and Game Department’s Sybille wildlife research facility. CWD was diagnosed in captive elk for the first time.

First documented case of CWD in a wild cervid

September 9, 1981
The Colorado Division of Wildlife identified CWD in a wild elk, marking the first documented case of CWD in a wild cervid.

They don't allow any hunting on the Arsenal in Colorado. That's why there are mature bucks there!

First confirmed case of CWD in a wild mule deer

February 4, 1985
The Colorado Division of Wildlife confirmed the presence of CWD in a wild mule deer for the first time.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife attempted to eliminate CWD from the Fort Collins Foothills Wildlife Research Facility by treating the soil with chlorine, removing the treated soil, and applying an additional chlorine treatment before letting the facility remain vacant for more than a year. The effort was unsuccessful.

The Wyoming Fish and Game Department identified CWD in a wild mule deer, marking the state’s first case of CWD in a wild cervid.

Guitarzan is full of 5hit. He's sitting there lying his ass off to people.

I enjoy his music and he's deadly with a bow. He needs to stick with that.
