The reason for United States Marines at foreign embassies is simple. If anyone crosses the line, you shoot and kill them. What a super power! We can't (won't) protect our own sovereign property? If this goes unanswered, this is a disgrace and shows how far our country has moved from being sovereign.

I wonder if the rockets used in the attack, said MADE IN THE U.S.A.?

It sounds like Obama didn't get the kind of government he wanted installed in Egypt and Libya. Now they are creating problems. Think they will go in and fix them prior to the election? I always thought the playbook was to destroy infrastructure and give the rebuilding contracts to US companies.

When you see a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv or Jerusalem wake me up. This is all a bad dream.

Obama and the progressives were all wet over the "Arab spring" and now we have dead Marines and a dead Ambassador. Better be calling Ntanyahu and apologizing cause we are going to need them.

Seems odd they got the ambassador. Must have been more organized than just a standard jerk off mob.

Should we attack Russia? grow up how about that, things happen, its an unstable world, I thought 9/11 should have taught you that.

The protest in Libya and Cairo was fostered by the "Muslim Brotherhood". Once considered a "Terrorist group" by the U.S. Obama removed them from that catagory and they have had meetings with the Obama admin. Obama also saw fit to give them 1.5 billion in aid and this is what we get because Obama decides to turn the other cheek.
Obama's foreign policy is like his other policies, a big "F"ing failure and you continue to drink the kool aide.

Romney can be aggressive, he does not have to make the hard decisions yet. Being aggressive, is not a bad approach when you look at those pics.

I am still waiting to see what exactly happened.

Bottom line is, this is a turd that obama will have a hard time handling without getting his hands dirty. Only having 2 months before the election does not give him much time to make a move.

To kill an ambassador does not seem like luck for a bunch of street scum. I read there were people taking pics prior to the attacks.

I still want payback, I am not blaming this on Obama, but, his approach the last 4 years did not make these scum love us as many were convinced it could.

I believe the U.S. presidency was finalized with this attack. Its pretty bad when your own party says you screwed up for political gain. Romney will now spend the next several weeks in damage repair. Trying to explain how he didn't just shoot and then aim. Read some of the other political chat lines that are republican like most of you guys, he embarrassed himself and his own party and tried to use it for political gain.

Obama said we will get those responsible so far during his presidency that's held true. I thought the actual race would last longer than this I think yesterday pretty much ended the slim chance Romney had.
 
That is a funny spin Cornhusker. Not saying you do not truly believe it, but, to me this is a nightmare for Obama any way you look at it. I really cannot even begin to understand your justification for your post, besides wishful thinking.
There is still unrest at other consulates.
What is bad for Obama is good for Romney.
He can have his spin doctors work overtime, but, it is on his watch.
As my other post said, this may not have been his fault, but, 2 months is a short time to take meaningful and decisive action.

It is very bad optics for the Romney campaign. Politics should stop at the waters edge, period. Romney could have looked presidential by simply saying that he won't attack the President over foreign policy issues.

Romney can only win on the economy, period, he will never win on foreign policy and to bring that to the fore is idiotic. Romney is running a campaign that makes Palin look like a season veteran.

This attack happened at the U.S. Consulate, not at the U.S. Embassy as a Chippewa implied. Consulates are where local nationals and traveling Americans can access help from the U.S. Government with documents and travel emergencies. They generally have less security and do not always have a Marine guard detail.

It is a tragedy no matter what happened. The attack appears to me to be an al Qaeda type organized attack and most likely had some inside informant that knew the Ambassador would be traveling to the Consulate that day.

As usual NeMont hit a home run. I should have explained the difference between an embassy an a consulate because it is huge I've been in both had a passport stolen once. The difference is huge. Paul with due respect watch where the focus of the campaign is now at. Romney had to remember it was the 200" buck (economy) he was after not the forkie (Consulate attack or leadership.) Tragic consequences any way you look at it.

It does make me proud to be American because outside of a few radicals most Americans have acted rationally. Lets get those responsible and not have to fight the entire Muslim world. It Obama kills those responsible in the next day or two its game over for sure.

I will agree, if he holds a emergency press conference with some pics of dead radicals it would work for him. IF.

I think the talking heads are more worried about Romneys reaction than the voters. We will see.

The Romney response was ham fisted and a needless self inflicted wound. He could have waited for a few days to let the facts sort themselves out, had a quick noncritical statement like, "Our prayers go out to those killed and injured while working abroad for the American people" or words to that effect and looked both presidential and above cheap shots. Lot's of moderates and even many died in the wool conservatives know this is a sucking chest wound that needs to be patched up or there is little hope for the patient.

Seeking revenge for 20 thugs while setting the entire region of fire is not responible world leadership. Remember it took 10 years to get bin Laden yet it was just as satisfying as if we had gotten him on Sept. 12, 2001.

If you think this isn't a giant mistatement on Romney's part then you have are watching a different campaign. His issue to win on is the economy and every second any other issue is in the forefront he is losing.

Completely agree with your first paragraph. He certainly should have been more presidential.

Regarding "20 thugs", it is unlikely that it was some random punks, I think you said so yourself.

The point I made is this can only work for Obama if there is payback. Payback that is easily seen and understood. Only 2 months to get it done, but, I will concede that Obama could come out of this looking good. If nothing happens, or there is no clear retribution, I think Romneys misspeak becomes a non issue.

Oh boy! with Obama's record in Chicago style politics, I can see it now. He tells the CIA to fire a missle from a drone and wipes out some ragheads in a car. Then comes on national T.V. and announces he just even the score for the killing of Americans in Libya.

I think we need to consider pulling out of those radical muslim countries and stopping all foreign aid. Take the money and give it to Israel instead and let them deal with the radical ragheads. They seem to do a better job of it then this adminstration does.

Sounds like Hillary Clinton and the President have some tough question to answer as to why if they had intelligence saying that this was going to happen that they didn't act on it.

Reports are that at least 48 hours in advance they were warned of impending attacks and yet didn't lock down their people.

This is going to get UGLY as the days go by if the current reports proves to be true.

Cornhusker, looks like you are wrong about Mitt Romney having to do damage control on his comments concerning the embassy killings. As the facts are coming in it appears he was right to critizize Obama and his adminstration for the way they were completly unprepared for the arab demostrations.

It appears that Obama and Hillary both have egg on their face for what they did and said and most of all for what they failed to do. Is it ever going to change with this idiot we have for a president.

Nobody is looking for a holy war with the muslim nations but for heck sakes why are we apologizing for a youtube video as a first response to a terrorist attack. President Obama continues to portray a weak America through his on going apology tour.Conservatives already portray Obama as week on forien policy so how did Romneys comment hurt him.
 
I've watched Obama's initial statement I've shown it to over 100 kids. They have all read the text please show me where Obama apologized. Also the timeline is key on the release of the Egyptian Embassy before it was attacked is crucial as well.
