A friend of mine drew a late 27 whitetail tag in AZ. Just recently, he was sent a DNA sample kit from the USFS Research Station in Flagstaff, AZ. I guess the directions ask to take a small hair sample on the lower leg, fill out a questionnaire, and send it back to the Research Station. One question on the survey asked for the harvest location, as specific as one is willing to give.

I was wondering if any others also got this kit, or if anyone know what the objective of this study may be.

my dad got a similair kit although his asked for a vile of blood from the chest cavity and a sample of the brain tissue
