Deer Units 461 / 391

Hi Folks,

I'm looking to do some scouting in these units for deer, and am curious as to whether any of you have any information on some public access points, that might hold some promise for some decent bucks. If you'd prefer to send me a PM, then please do.

Get a good map of the private versus public land. Most of those units are private land. There is very little public land. I hunted there a couple of years ago during the 4th season with my son. Only saw some does on private land. Talked with others that had hunted it and they said, if you saw a buck, shoot it because that would probably be all you saw on the public land. I haven't been back and don't plan on going back.

As for access points, with a map of private and public, look along the South Platte River.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-06-09 AT 03:26AM (MST)[p]I hunt 391 for cow elk on private land as this unit offers List C cow tags.

391 amd 461 is almost all private except for a very small part basicly like 1% of the unit is public and the hunting is not that great on the public.

If you can line up some hunting on a good chunk of private there are some big bucks and good bulls in the unit but getting access to hunt them is ridicilous.
