Labarge had their Ling tournament on Fontenelle Reservoir last weekend...needless to say I brought home 15 lbs of fillets without getting my butt froze off...Largest Burbot was 34 inches and 8.5 pds...some of the fish I cleaned had 6 inch kokanee and small mouth bass in them,,,fisherman caught 5 tagged money fish also..
 
I hear theres a way to make em taste like lobster? Left a pile of em on the ice on mille lacs lake in my youth. Birds seemed to like em.
 
To make them taste like lobster you have to boil them in Chicken soup or broth. Once done dip them in butter as you would a lobster.... Amazing
 
It's a Burbot and looks like a Ling Cod in that's it's green and slimy as well. No stinging spines on them but a cold deep water fish. They eat them in Alaska all the time that's where I learned how to cook them...
