Hello everyone,

My uncle is 79 years old, he is a retired military Vietnam war veteran, and is completely disabled, 80% of which is service related.
Last year he was diagnosed with cancer and began Chemotherapy. This prevented him from being able to hunt last year. Unfortunately it is at the point that the cancer is in-operable, and just a question of how much time he has left. (6mo to 1yr). With that in mind I have been planning one last hunting trip together.
My uncle, his son, myself, and my wife all drew South Slope/Bonanza/Vernal Utah General Rifle Deer Tags. Neither my uncle nor his son have ever hunted mule deer before, nor have they ever hunted in Utah before. This is also the first time in many years since his son has been able to hunt with him, and will be very special trip for all of us.
His son is 49 years old, and is also a retired military war veteran, having served three tours in Iraq.
We are all non-residents, and have never stepped foot in the unit. Our scouting time will be limited to studying satellite imagery, topo maps, road maps, etc. and the 4 days prior to opening day. We will stay through the entire season. We will most likely bring a small travel trailer to camp in, and have a couple of atv's.
My top priority at this point is to try and make harvesting a decent 3 or 4 point buck a real possibility for my uncle with his limited physical abilities. However My uncle does has the disabled motor vehicle hunting permit, and will probably get the extended season permit also.
Any information about the unit you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to PM me.
If you have access to private property or something special that you would only be willing to let my uncle hunt, that would be fine with the rest of us.
