Guard Warns Poachers to Stay Off Training Ground
Jan. 10, 2005
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah National Guard is trying to discourage hunters from poaching on a training ground near Provo.

The Guard says they've had several problems with it at Camp Williams.

Besides being illegal, it's also dangerous. Live-fire training continues there, and old ammunitions on the property could kill or maim someone.

They say they've found unexploded artillery dating back more than 90 years.

People found poaching on the property face possible jail time, up to 8-thousand dollars in fines and forfeiture of their weapons.

The 28-thousand-acre training ground is about 30 miles northwest of Provo.

Discouraging? What? Are they going to put mints on their pillows as well? I don't think that is a very good choice of words. How about poachers will be shot on sight.
