LAST EDITED ON Jan-17-08 AT 09:05AM (MST)[p]The trophy picture is the morning after when we went to pack the bull out. The hide on the ground is the belly hair. I once had a friend who saved that to use as cover scent while bowhunting, that is another story.
My daughter and I were alone when we shot him. However, I am a lucky man. As much as I love the outdoors I have been blessed with a wife and 3 daughters who not only supported me in my edeavors but have participated. I know sharing times like this is worth more than a 400"er and a posse.
ktc,
I am not one for posting pictures of hunts, however you are exactly right these threads and pictures are here because I felt that MM was becoming to much of a negative debate forum. It is sad when we start tearing apart a man in his later years for doing something he loves because we believe we could have done better. ie "govenors tag". Therefore this is an effort to refocus MM into fun, constructive discussion and hunting heritage. ktc also posted a few photos that were worth a thousand words and more than a B&C score with his daughters antelope pictures and the last 2 years of family elk pictures.
I am guilty as anybody as getting caught up in the politics and banter of MM, many times sticking my foot in my mouth. Maybe this is an effort to be a little more friendly.
For the record this is the only bull in my house mounted, maybe the experience is worth more than the size. Thanks to Roscoe? Autumn pride for doing a fantastic job on the mount.
