Any of you guys experience the "Death Wobble" and what did you do to fix the problem?
After hitting a pothole or bump in the road, the front end starts shaking violently.
I had it happen to me for the first time the other day on my 1998 1500.
I'm going to have the front end checked out this week before getting it realigned.
I just had new tires put on it since the Death Wobble happened.

Did You Go with Bigger Tires?

Know a Guy that Has the Same Issue on a Chevy Dura-Max!

Any Chevy Lover Suggestions out there?

LAST EDITED ON Sep-11-16 AT 03:12PM (MST)[p]Google Dodge steering gear stabilizer... easy to install yourself. I would also suggest putting a steering stabilizer shock either single or dual on.

Has done the trick for me. And i can actually drive the ol Dodge down the road instead of herding it.

My 2006 2500 had the death wobble. I took it to Alignment Specialists in SLC, UT. They replaced most of the parts with updated Mopar parts. The new parts are beefed up and connect in differently than the old ones did. Issue solved and the truck rides better than it ever did. Tires are wearing much better as well. I'm running factory sized tires.

Same size tires.
I'm thinking it might be the tracking bar being loose.
Also, that gear box stabilizer might be a good idea too.

My buddy had an old 12v dodge that had oversize bias ply tires and that damn thing would buck you right off the road. Track bar.

Well Elk, we did an alignment. No fix. Replaced ball hoints. No fix. Track bar. No fix.
One of those steering box stabilizers. No fix. Tie rod stabilizer. No fix. New tie rod ends. No fix. Finally last year I junked the BF Goodrich wide tires ($1300) and spent an additional $1700 on front end parts and I've gone over a year now without a wobble incident. So yes I guess the checks worked... for now.

I Told You on that Steering Box Stabilizer it may or may not Fix it!
