Most guys preffer the east, both are fantastic hunts. I've watched the sheep cross back and forth so I don't know if you can say for sure from day to day which side the biggest ram will be on.
Drawing the tag is the only hard part of getting a nice ram on either hunt. well access can be a challenge too figure on floating the river.
