Electric car ethics

I spent the weekend at a remote lodge up in the Mountains with no manager on sight overnight.
The people in the room next to us were driving a ?Chevy Volt? electric car.
Shortly after dark, I noticed an extension cord running out of their room and down to their car.

I don't think they got the Lodge owners permission for this, I wonder how much it cost to charge this thing for the night ?
