The new Ford Fusion is claiming close to 100 miles per gallon. But they fail to mention how much electricity is needed when on the electric mode. Can someone explain to me if any true energy is saved with hybrid cars. Doesn't it take at least the same amount of energy to make the electricity as one would burn just using gas? It seems kinda like buying meat from the store so you aren't actually killing it yourself. Isn't someone else burning fuel to make the electricity, so you can use a hybrid car, just so you can feel all "green" and politically correct about driving?
