It's now authorized in South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico and Texas

How about it North Dakota, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and, of course, California?

Mule deer could use some help!

Edited: Apparently, it's already being used for livestock protection by federal agents in Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Virginia, and West Virginia, but not for wild game animals.

Banning the use of them could be a double edge sword. They are used to control predators of livestock. The three main predators of livestock are wolves, coyotes, and mountain lions.
Allowing more of those predators to survive will also effect wild game animals such as deer and elk.
