This is a picture my wife took at sunset, how/why is there a shadow?

OK I'll bite for the heck of it.

My guess is there's a shadow because there's a wall or something behind the leaves that would imply it is a sunset. The fact is it was taken at sun set simply means that's the time of the day the shot was taken.

That is the western sky behind the bush.I know it's weird but i'm not trying to BS anyone. We are just curious how this happened and thought this would be a good place for an answer. Thanks,

1. Full Moon light or 2. Someone holding a lighting source (flashlight/headlights) behind you.

I think there's two sources of light also. Or, the flash was set for redeye, or the sensor has poor coatings.

If there's nothing behind it, it's one of the above mentioned issues, or a combination of them.

You can get strange shadows and color casts with lower quality coatings like on the FZ.
