I get one big hunt each year and it's just not enough. I figure if I can do a combo camping/hunting trip and bring my wife and 3 year old boy I would at least get another week in the mountains. I think it may also be a way of introducing my wife to my hunting passion. I've hunted deer all over southern Utah with my Dad for 25+ years and just started bow hunting 2 years ago. I was planning on going to the Boulder Plateau but noticed that they turned it into a spike only (no cow) area. Obviously I'm not after a trophy and would just like an opportunity for some action. My wife has camped with me in a tent but we now have a pop up for the family. I know some good areas for late October deer but nothing really for archery elk. Any suggestions for some spike/cow areas that I could check out. I would love to involve my family in this sport and start them off with a positive experience.
